What was going on in and about the fields during the first day of U19 JWC PDF Print E-mail
Written by Mieneke Zevenberg

These tropical Easter days are not that good for the organization, players and public rather stay at the beach than indoors. But, the show must go on, and of course korfball is the game to play. We see young players doing a good warming up in the old sport hall, while their coaches are dead to the world at the side bench. At the beach, next to the sport hall, players and volunteers gather to chill and talk. The atmosphere is great and with a cold beer, or soft drink it is nice catching some sunshine. Meanwhile volunteers slog to get big crates of equipment into a jeep, and a referee and its assistant, are talking about stopwatches and the quality of the bands.

When they start the game it becomes obvious what they were talking about. The referee and its assistant stay in contact through electronic devices. The linesman has a beep and vibrating-function in its flag, which is also build into a device the referee has around its arm. Developments go on, in korfball as well.
