Good start, top teams at first day U19JWC PDF Print E-mail

After the first day of the U19 JWC, championship holder Holland and England, and Chinese Taipei and Belgium take the lead in their pool. These four countries took full advantage of the first day. In pool A Holland outclassed Catalonia and Poland, 28-5 both games. England outclassed Slovakia with 23-1 and Spain with 15-10. Poland beat Slovakia in the openings game with 4-3.

In the B-pool it is Belgium and Chinese Taipei that compete each other. The Asians just won from Germany with 16-14 and beat the Russians, thanks to a good second half with 12-17. Hungary was no opponent at all, 29-6. Belgium had it easy with the Hungarians also, Germany was a better opponent, but this wasn't enough also17-9. A 16-9 victory of Russia at the Hungarians made them third.

Ten countries are competing in the 16th edition of the U19 JWC, the unofficial world championship for national teams until 19 years of age. The talent team of District North and the Groningen Regio team, participated without competition. On Saturday, April 23, the pole-games are continued. Sunday is final day, cross finals and final.
