At the second day of the U19JWC there were no surprises. In pool A, favorite Holland was not beaten. With 24-10 it ended all the dreams and aspirations of the English team. The English did reach the cross finals (place 1-4), through a 16-7 victory against Poland. Spain ended up third in the poule before Poland and Slovakia, which lost all its games. In the other pool Germany and Russia treated the audience to an exciting game, competing the 3rd place. Russia lead by 7-8 at half time. Thanks to greater experience and practice, Germany eventually won 15-14. At least as exciting was the game between Chinese Taipei and Belgium about the first place in their pool. Belgium decided the game in the last minutes, taking a lead of 11-15 and won 14-17. Hungary had no points at all Sunday, April 24, the cross finales are played. |
