In 1920 a korfball club was established under the name 'OKK' (Oefening Kweekt Kracht - Exercises grow power) in Zevenhuizen. On July 1920 the members' meeting approved the regulations and the amending formalised house rules. Soon the name 'OKK' was replaced by 'Sparta'. Kv (korfball club) Sparta celebrates it's 90th anniversary this year, an event that definitely attracts one's attention. The association consists currently of 6 senior teams, 7 youth teams, a 'kangaroo group' and some 'prikkorfballers' (needlestick korfball players). In addition to korfball Sparta offers, as omni-association, also the sports klootschieten (a typical Dutch sports called Ball Shooting) and darts. Sparta makes use of excellent sports facilities in Zevenhuizen, consisting of a large artifical grass field, which can be used for 2 senior games and 4 youth games at a time, and large tournaments have been organised here already.
