Met nog 76 dagen te gaan tot het Junior World Cup is het weer alle hens aan dek binnen de werkgroepen. Hier een korte update met leuke weetjes over het U19 JWC 2012 (5 t/m 8 april 2012).
- De werkgroep Vrijwilligers kan ook dit jaar weer veel vrijwilligers gebruiken. Zodoende zullen de verenigingscoördinatoren hiervoor op korte termijn alle leden en betrokkenen bij de club mailen/bellen.
- Er hebben zich inmiddels 14 landen aangemeld en JTT North, namelijk de landen; Belarus (Wit Rusland), Belgium, Catalonia, China, Chinese Taipei, England, Germany, Hungary, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia.
- Met nog drie landen Slovakia, Czech Republic en South Africa die een optie hebben kan het toernooi uitgroeien tot max. 16 deelnemende lanen.
- De officiële loting zal plaatsvinden op maandag 30 januari om 20:00.
- Naast een feestavond en diverse leuke verrassingen tijdens het JWC, heeft de werkgroep side events ook de organisatie op zich genomen van het op de zaterdag te spelen side toernooi voor de TOP junioren van Noord. Hoe dit er precies komt uit te zien is nog even een verrassing.
- Ook het opkomende Mono korfbal wat volgens de Mission Olympic regels al veel door scholen wordt gespeeld, zal weer een plekje op het toernooi krijgen.
- De sponsorcommissie is druk doende. Er zijn echter nog sponsorplaatsen vacant, dus heeft u, uw bedrijf of uw werkgever interesse in een bijpassende sponsormogelijkheid....neem dan contact op met: Harmannus Harkema, Anne Wiersma of Erik Boonstra, of mail naar hun via:

- Van de veertien landen hebben negen landen huisvesting nodig. Samen met haar leden verzorgen de drie organiserende verenigingen ook dit voor het toernooi. Zo zal Hungary weer opgevangen worden door Wez Handich, Catalonia door DFD, Portugal door OWK, Duitsland en Polen door Rodenburg. Na het 1e jaar gastvereniging voor Czech Republic en het 2e jaar gastgezinnen voor de officials te hebben geregeld gaat ook Sparta dit jaar een land opnemen in hun vereniging. Zo blijven er nog drie landenteams over die vast een zeker een plekje gaan vinden bij één van onze buurtverenigingen zoals bijvoorbeeld Noordenveld, OKO/Bies, NKC of Zunobri.
- De Glossy en Poster zijn druk in de maak en de eerste persberichten rollen de deur uit.
- Ook deze keer kunnen jeugdleden tot 18 jaar weer meedoen aan de prijsvraag en gratis entree winnen. De prijsvraag zal net als voorgaande jaren in februari naar de verenigingen in Noord en de andere deelnemende verenigingen worden gemaild. Once again the korfball teams of of Rodenburg, Sparta and OWK will join forces this year and organise the Junior World Cup. After the two previous editions the work to do and the potential pitfalls are well known, yet the job still has to be done. So this year once again all will jump in to help and make it happen. Members, parents and former members of the korfball clubs will be asked to support as part of different committees with all sorts of work ot be done. From translation services to being a host family and taking care of tickets and security.
About once a month we want to keep all volunteers informed through the club websites of all matters regarding the organisation of the Junior World Cup 2012 that will take place from Thursday 5 April until Sunday 8 April in the Topsporthall in Leek.
Update:
The following committees have been setup: Communications (WC), Participants (WD), Finance (WF), Side Events (WE), Volunteers (WV), Competion issues (WW). Each committee has 2 – 6 members.
- A number of plans and task lists have been put together and the budget for JWC2012 has been set.
- WW; Five countries have already confirmed participation: Belgium, England, Germany, The Netherlands and Poland
- WW, NEW; Next to the three daily battles between the international juniors in the JWC2012 tournament, this year on the final day the TOP juniors of the North will compete against eachother.
- WV; With a clear, new task list for the volunteers the other committees can pass on their requirements so during the tournament the Volunteer Committee can arrange for the right number of volunteers for all the different tasks.
- WS; The sponsor committee is already very busy. The first head sponsor is confirmed: UNIVE. UNIVE will beo ne of the head sponsors just like the previous years. - WE; Side events is responsible for creating additional fun during the tournament. They will meet very soon for the first time. We are sure this will lead to many suprising ideas.
- WD: OC and the other committees wish the chairman of the Participants Committee will recover soon. Wia is hopeful to be completely back in January and continue the work with the committee.
- WC; WC is moving full speed ahead to provide this year once again an internet cafe and video of all games. Next tot hat there is a plan for a glossy and a tournament poster. The first phase in promotion of the tournament has begun.
