Secondary school students wish to qualify for the National School Korfball PDF Print E-mail

 

The official Under 19 Junior World Championship Korfball (U19 JWC) will be held in the SportsCenter in Leek from the 1st till the 4th of April. The aims of the U19 JWC 2010 is to provide an International korfball competition with a professional kaliber obvious to the provinces, the counties, the competing nationalities, all the organizing sports clubs and the general public.
Furthermore, the organizing clubs hope that this event will stimulate the general youth to take up korfball as a sport. To facilitate this goal the three korfball clubs who are organizing this event have formed a Foundation: Korfball Support Foundation Leek. This development is an important and unique development in the korfball sport.
The group ‘Youth in Motion ‘ together with the Korfball Support Foundation have a joint project which is aimed at the secondary school students to get them interested in the korfball sport. To achieve this goal there are korfball clinics organized in the RSG school group which includes De Borgen in Leek, Roden (County Noordenveld) and Grootegast (County Grootegast). This school group wish to qualify for the Dutch Championship School Korfball on the 4th of June in Amsterdam and hope that the support of this project will enable them to achieve this. The qualification takes place on the 30th of March in Leeuwarden and by holding selection competitions beforehand and playing in the preliminary round in the North Netherlands this school group hope to qualify.
