JTT North – Hungary
14 – 6
Netherlands – Czech Republic 26 – 3

This Junior North Team had little problems with Hungary.
There was a real class difference and the Hungarians were overpowered
by  good Dutch teamwork, resulting in a 14-06 victory for the Dutch team.

The Czech team took a mentally important lead in their game against The Netherlands,
however a loud yell brought the Dutchies to their senses.
In the Czech coaching- and trainer group, they have Roman Vernik of SCO and Martina Bouwman of DVO, but they too could not turn the tide.
Netherlands pushed through to a halftime score of 11-01.

Both teams had a good start in the second half; both teams scored during their first attack.
However, The Netherlands stayed upon top, by playing business likely with now and then a perfect action.
They presented their visiting-card by ending this game 26-03 in their favour.

Match Belgium -
JTT East
Romania - Portugal
1 – 19
Belgium - JTT East
11 – 15

Belgium had a hard game against the JTT East team. Whether two disallowed goals were the reason for this performance remains the question. Belgium players appeared unsteady after these decisions and the Belgium performance was influenced by this. After half time the Belgium team tried everything in their power to come alongside JTT East, however time ran out before they could take full control over the game.

Romania wasn't a worthy opponent to Portugal, despite the fact that the Portuguese needed time to set up the organization in their team. Portugal seems to have difficulties with appearing at an early hour these last couple of days, which results in a lack of concentration. However, their winning against the inexperienced Rumania wasn't a surprise. The Portuguese already have their minds on tomorrows games, as the classical top match against Catalonia is scheduled. This game decides about the second place in the group.

Chinese Taipei – Germany
18 – 8
Poland – JTT North
1 – 17
Hungary – Netherlands
2 – 28

No surprises in round 6. Netherlands honoured its own korfball tradition. In an uneven battle, Hungary had to admit the superiority of a sparkling Dutch team.

JTT North gave a korfball lecture to Poland, who clearly lack experience to join into the Dutch level.

Chinese Taipei however is growing into a korfball nation.
Due to many Dutch clinics and training sessions, these team players at the other side of the world, unfold themselves as a formidable opponent, who can go far in this tournament.

In a short break between matches, the results of the raffle were announced. Geert van der Velde went home today with the first prize!

a photo of an enthousiastic audience

Portugal - Belgium 6 – 10
South Africa – Romania 13 – 3
England – Catalonia 7 – 12

After an easy victory against Romania, Belgium experienced  more resistance against Portugal. Goals were not so easy now and even on the defensive side, the Belgians had to work hard to prevent the Portuguese team from scoring.
Our Belgian reporter states that the team was not in a quiet mood. They played carelessly and missed a lot of ‘open’ chances.
Halftime ended at 02-06.
After restart, the Portuguese came back to 04-06.
This however gave a positive signal to the Belgian team to speed up things and to work on their concentration for the game.
They succeeded by winning this match at 06-10.
